UNIT 35 LO3 Space Way Below, is a screenshot of my final piece in the workshop of Logic Pro 9. The tracks coloured in blue are the tracks that i have sampled using authentic sounds that we had recorded, I had taken the original sound before cutting it down to a necessary sample size and then inputted into 'EXS24' where the sample could be allocated to the MIDI keyboard keys. The first two red tracks with names 'ID8 1' and 'ID8 2' are an example of patch bays in practise after using Reason Record to assist and work as a slave device to Logic Pro 9. I had arranged the structure of my track specifically to express each sound individually without losing the original melody or rhythm. I felt like the EXS24 sampler has excellent functions and features to allow us to modify the sample. UNIT 35 LO2 Space Way In my project I have used multiple editing functions of a synthesiser including oscillator, envelope generator and low-frequency oscillator. I had used many presets within the range of synthesisers I had used, this worked well for me as i was easily able to adjust the presets to make the sound that i actually wanted instead of using the original preset which wouldn't have been my original sound. After getting the hang of using ES1 and ES2 i then went on to create my own presets as listed below: Oscillator-  I especially found benefit using ES2 as it contains three different oscillators. Within each oscillator there are different wave types that can be used together to create the exact sound required, this is the usual wave types that we had learnt in LO1 for example Sine wave, Triangle wave, Saw wave, Square wave and three additional sine wave combinations. A coustic Theory & Fundam ental Sounds The air that is produced from vibrations from a source is sound. Sound waves are many different waves projecting different frequencies together. Each of these are called a sine wave but together are called harmonics. Amplitude, frequency and wavelength produce different waveforms. The distance between the highest point in one wave and the highest point in another wave is called wavelength. Wavelengths affect frequency either by being short (high frequency) or long (low frequency). Frequency is just the speed of the vibration, the speed of the vibrations will then affect pitch to the human ear, this is measured in ‘cycles’ by the number of waves produced each second. The fundamental frequency is the lowest frequency able to be produced by the instrument being used, so as the harmonics are multiples of the fundamental frequency, the frequency will increase in multiples of hertz (Hz).
